CANADA. Travel retailer and restaurateur Paradies Lagardère has been awarded two concessions packages at Vancouver International Airport and will open four stores.
Coastal News, Relay and Deepwater Spirit will be located in the international terminal, while a new Pacific Coast News outlet will open in the pre-security area of the domestic terminal in 2020.

Featuring a modern design, Coastal News (rendering above) will be located pre-security and will open this year. It will offer travel basics such as neck pillows, eye masks, travel adapters, smartphone cables, drinks and snacks. Regional gifts and gourmet food items such as Maple Crème cookies and Icewine tea and chocolates will also be available.
A post-security Relay store will also feature a new design that aims to serve travellers’ needs. It will offer travel essentials as well as a full service illy café with seating. It will also open this year.

Paradies Lagardère’s Deepwater Spirit concept (rendering above) aims to “embody Vancouver and the surrounding area”, through its design and offer of popular local products. It will open in 2020 in a new expansion area of the international terminal.
“Paradies Lagardère is excited for the opportunity to continue its long-standing relationship with Vancouver International Airport,” said President and CEO Gregg Paradies. “The concepts we’re introducing into the retail programme at [the airport] will enhance the customer experience at the airport with fun locally-themed items and travel necessities.”

Vancouver Airport Authority Vice President, Commercial Development Scott Norris commented: “We are always looking to provide outstanding customer experiences and that includes engaging and diverse retail options. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Paradies Lagardère, further enhancing our concession programme with the arrival of these four new stores.”
