Patrón raises US$138,000 for The Smile Train

US. The Patrón Spirits Company recently raised US$138,330 from the company’s Fourth Annual Invitational Charity Golf Tournament in Coral Springs The Smile Train in Coral Springs, Florida, to benefit cleft charity The Smile Train (www.smiletrain.org).

The Smile Train, which has received enormous support from the travel retail channel in recent years, is an international organization dedicated to helping millions of children around the world who suffer from cleft lip and palate by providing free surgery, free training for doctors and research to find a cure.

In the four years that Patrón has organized the tournament, over US$400,000 has been raised for The Smile Train.

“A few days after the golf tournament, several of us from Patrón had an opportunity to visit a Smile Train hospital in Indonesia and personally see how these vital funds are being used to help so many people in need,” said South Florida resident John McDonnell, the Chief Operating Officer of Patrón Spirits International.

“I’ve seen first-hand how every Dollar matters, and I’m continually grateful for our friends and supporters who have so generously contributed every year to this very worthwhile humanitarian cause.”

“We’re honoured to be the title sponsor each year of this fantastic event, and do our part in helping to raise much-needed funds for The Smile Train,” added Laura Becraft, Patrón tequila’s state manager for Florida, Georgia and the Virgin Islands. “This year was our most successful tournament yet, in terms of the money raised, and we’re already planning for bigger and better in 2011.”
