New Flemingo Group Independent Director Paul Topping |
INDIA. Flemingo Group today announced that Paul Topping has joined its board as an independent Director. The well-respected Englishman, now living in Sri Lanka, was previously a Director of Heinemann Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd, as well as President Asia for Aldeasa; Managing Director for Asia with Alpha Airports Group; and Managing Director of Alpha Retail.
Flemingo said the appointment underlines its rapid growth over the last two years. It now has over 100 shops, including diplomatic stores and airline contracts across 27 countries. Topping’s appointment follows hot on the heels of of Simon Forde joining the group as Commercial Director, responsible for buying activity and brand relationships across the group’s retail operations. He joined Flemingo from The Nuance Group, where he was Head of Retail Services – Europe.
The group said it has extensive plans for growth under its new initiative – “˜Flemingo the next Frontier’. In the past year the group has set up Flemingo Diplomat Direct, a duty free service for diplomats, and expanded into many new locations such as Sri Lanka, Nepal and several countries in Africa. It has also gained a foothold in Europe with shops in Poland, Ukraine and France – a region where it seeks further growth.
