Portland International broadens commercial offer with new concessions

USA. The Port of Portland Commission has approved 11 new lease agreements for retail and food & beverage locations at Portland International Airport. These will begin trading from mid-2016.

The leases are the second phase of a multi-year project to upgrade Portland Airport’s concessions offer through to 2018. The focus of phase two is on coffee concessions, expanding these from ten to 12 locations and offering travellers four brands, rather than two.

“Portland is a coffee town; anyone seeking a good, strong cup of coffee before an early morning flight ought to appreciate the mix of brands we will soon offer,” said General Manager of Aviation Business and Properties Chris Czarnecki.

“We sought to expand the local and regional presence of the new shops opening soon, and we focused on companies that could deliver the best customer experience possible. We also paid close attention to quality employers who appreciate the value each employee brings to the job.”

The new-look offer includes:
Peet’s Coffee & Tea
• Portland Roasting Company
• Starbucks
• Stumptown Coffee Roasters

New and expanded shops and restaurants include:
Capers Farm-to-Table Market: A “˜farm-to-table’ pop-up takes a permanent location in the North Lobby post security, featuring an urban market, healthful grab-and-go section, wine bar, and meats and cheese deli.
House Spirits Distillery: A specialty retail and education experience featuring what is claimed to be “the only airport distillery tasting room in the world”. It offers a catalogue of spirits including Aviation American Gin in addition to branded apparel, cocktail ware, and other local products.
Kenny & Zuke’s Delicatessen & Market: A local deli attached to a marketplace of locally sourced products showcasing forward thinking Portland artisans.
Made in Oregon: Opened its first airport store in 1975, Made in Oregon features goods from local artisans.
Soundbalance: A national airport concession brand and green lifestyle store offering mobile business hardware, accessories, mobile entertainment devices, and media.
Timberline Lodge: Locally designed and printed apparel and souvenirs that relate to the history, beauty, and nostalgia of the Pacific Northwest.
Vino Volo: Offers wines from the Pacific Northwest and beyond by the glass, in tasting flights or by the bottle.
