UK. Protégé International will showcase newly designed packs for its premium cigarette brands Straight Eight and budget High Roller at the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition later this month (Stand number: L35).
The new designs are meant to reflect “today’s demand for clean cut style”, said the UK-based marketing and distribution specialist.

The design for High Roller features a casino image of two red dice on a plain black background and the brand name in classic style. Gone are the logo in Vegas-style lights and the stark white background, creating “a more sophisticated image for consumers on a budget” according to the company.
The new pack for all three Straight Eight varieties is pale silver grey, subtly checked with an understated logo in red for Classic blend, blue for Chrome light and Green for Classic Menthol.
Protégé International CEO André Levy said: “Protégé excels at creating brands which have associations with a lifestyle to which consumers aspire. In the case of High Roller and Straight Eight this is an American style which appeals particularly in the Asian and Middle East market. Even though the consumer may be on a budget they still crave a dash of chic and an air of sophistication.
“Also, the change in the Straight Eight blend to a Virginia blend fills a gap in the Protégé cigarette portfolio without in any way compromising the deluxe image of the Straight Eight brand franchise.”
