QATAR. Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has reached a major training milestone, with 50 employees completing the Duty Free World Council (DFWC) Academy Certificate Course in Duty Free and Travel Retail.
Delivered in partnership with Airports Council International (ACI), the programme saw QDF achieve a 100% completion rate, making it the largest single participant in the course to date.
QDF said the achievement highlights its commitment to developing talent and equipping staff with the expertise to deliver world-class shopping experiences for millions of travellers at Hamad International Airport.

The course covered global travel retail fundamentals, including sales channels, regional dynamics and the role of major retailers and brands. Participants also examined evolving consumer expectations, the growing importance of digital solutions and the push toward sustainable practices.
Training modules focused on industry basics, consumer insights and customer experience strategies, giving QDF staff practical tools to enhance traveller engagement and satisfaction across its retail portfolio.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Retail & Hospitality Officer Thabet Musleh commented, “Our people are at the heart of Qatar Duty Free’s success, and we are incredibly proud of the 50 colleagues who have all completed this important programme.
“Their dedication reflects the culture of excellence and continuous learning we value so deeply, and it is this commitment that allows us to keep raising the bar in global travel retail.
“By investing in our team, we ensure that every traveller passing through Hamad International Airport enjoys service that is as exceptional as the experiences we create.” ✈
