USA. Radico Khaitan-operated Rampur Distillery has revealed The Kohinoor Reserve Indian Dark Rum at the IAADFS Summit of the Americas, which took place from 14 to 17 April at Palm Beach County Convention Center, Florida.
The 43% ABV rum will roll out in travel retail in the coming months at a recommended retail price of £45 (US$56) for 70cl.
The Kohinoor Reserve Indian Dark Rum is crafted through small-batch distillation, using fresh cane juice harvested during north Indian winters. The rum is then matured in American oak barrels previously used for maturing Indian single malt, followed by further maturation in Cognac XO and vermouth casks.

Rum is one of the earliest known spirits due to its simple production process. According to the spirits company its main ingredient, sugarcane, is first known to be fermented in India.
Radico Khaitan noted: “The Kohinoor Reserve Indian Dark Rum is presented in an exquisite glass bottle, mirroring the magnificence of the Koh-i-noor Diamond. When viewed from above, it resembles the brilliant oval cut of the diamond.
