Safilo Group signs eyewear licensing deal for beauty brand Bobbi Brown

Italian producer Safilo Group is to create eyewear collections for Estée Lauder-owned beauty brand Bobbi Brown, promising a fresh, innovative approach to interpreting eyewear.

The licensing agreement, which covers the design, manufacture and distribution of optical frames and sunglasses, will run until 31 December 2018.

The first collection will make its debut in Spring 2014.

The brand’s founder and chief creative officer Bobbi Brown said: “As a make-up artist, I have looked at women’s faces for over 20 years and believe that my beauty expertise will translate naturally into eyewear, identifying the best silhouettes and colours for a woman’s face shape, skin tone and lifestyle.

“This is a new, innovative approach to interpreting eyewear.”

Safilo Group CEO Roberto Vedovotto added: “We are very pleased to announce this new partnership with Bobbi Brown, a make-up industry maverick who believes that beauty isn’t about looking perfect, but about celebrating a woman’s individuality.

“We want to replicate the huge success Estée Lauder is having with this brand by translating into her new eyewear collection a modern but classical feel designed to enhance a woman’s own innate beauty.”
