POLAND. LVMH-owned Sephora confirmed its leadership in the Polish perfumery sector today, in a tie up with local operator Empik.
Empik is contributing its selective perfume activity, including nine shops, to Sephora’s Polish subsidiary in exchange for a minority stake in the capital of Sephora Polska. Sephora will then have a network of 40 shops in Poland.
Sephora said in a statement the move completes its geographical presence in Poland, which is principally in major town centres. Other benefits will also flow from the strong brand image of Empik, the oldest selective perfume retail chain in Poland.
Sephora Europe confirmed its wish to develop its activities in a selective manner in markets with strong potential like Poland.
