SINGAPORE. Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its new First Class SilverKris Lounge in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2. It marks the completion of the first phase of a S$45 million (US$34.48 million), two-year lounge renewal programme.
Located near departure Gate E on Level 3, the 1,050sq m facility is +11% larger than its predecessor and accommodates around 130 guests.
Access is extended to Suites and First Class customers, Solitaire PPS Club members and First Class travellers on Star Alliance member carriers.

SIA worked with design consultancy Ong & Ong to refine the layout and create a distinct look while maintaining the signature design language shared across the airline’s flagship lounges in terminals 2 and 3.
The refreshed space features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, a redesigned bar and a chandelier centrepiece designed to create what the airline calls “a light-filled, luxurious sanctuary”.
The lounge includes defined zones for dining, work and relaxation, with upgraded restrooms and shower facilities. Step-free access, Braille signage and hearing loop systems enhance inclusivity.
Design and ambience
A standout feature of the entrance is a 20-metre-long batik wall, an artistic interpretation of the SIA batik motif made from 97 laser-cut plexiglass flowers with gold powder-coated accents (see the spectacular installation below). A programmed lighting sequence gives the wall a rhythmic, pulsing effect.

A curved LED display showcasing the airline’s batik motif and the scent of Batik Flora – SIA’s bespoke fragrance – greet guests upon arrival, accompanied by the sound of Singapore Airlines audio signature to create what SIA describes as a “multi-sensory welcome”.
Signature bar and dining
An evolution of the popular Crystal Bar in T3, the Signature Bar seats 12 and serves barista-made coffee, cocktails, premium wines & spirits, and a new bar bites menu.
The space is framed by a concentric ceiling design that enhances the bar’s warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
The dining area features two chandeliers crafted by Czech designer Michaela Mertlova and produced by LASVIT, comprising 128 hand-blown glass stars inspired by the night sky.

The menu retains SIA favourites such as SilverKris Signature Laksa and Chwee Kueh, alongside new à la minute dishes, such as Stir-Fried XO Carrot Cake with Bean Sprouts and Hawaiian Chicken Burger with Crinkle Cut Fries.
A selection of international and wellness-inspired dishes will rotate from this month (November), including Herb-roasted Chicken Cacciatore, Mediterranean Quinoa Salad and Ondeh Ondeh Cake.
Beverage highlights include the SilverKris Bloody Mary, the Singapore Sling and Root Recovery, a wellness blend of apple, beetroot, carrot and ginger.
Comfort and productivity
The lounge offers SIA’s signature wingback chairs, productivity pods with charging points and a meeting room for up to six people equipped with video-conferencing facilities. Two soundproof booths cater for private calls.
A resting zone includes four semi-private pods fitted with Poltrona Frau reclining armchairs, with pillows, blankets and eyeshades provided.

Families benefit from a children’s playroom featuring a Sony PlayStation 5 and tactile games, as well as a nursing room equipped with a baby changing station.
Four unisex en-suite shower rooms feature Grohe and Toto fittings, stocked with Lalique Neroli amenities and Dyson hairdryers. A wheelchair-accessible shower room is also available. ✈
