Singapore Changi Airport flags off ‘candy-licious’ activations at Terminals 2 and 3

The Candy Wonderland at Terminal 3 features a cupcake-inspired Ferris wheel

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group has unveiled a Festive Village to mark the start of the year-end holiday season. The experience is available to travellers from today (4 November) till 31 March.

Passengers can experience the candy-themed wonderland featuring carnival games, rides and a snow house. Changi’s dinosaur mascots, fairy stilt walkers and Santa will also make an appearance pre-Christmas.

The snow slide is an engaging activity for travelling families

At the heart of the festivities is the Candy Wonderland at Terminal 3 departure hall. It includes a 5m-tall bear, a 7m-tall rotating cupcake Ferris wheel, a pool of sprinkles and candy cane lane.

A light and snow show is being hosted every evening. On select Friday and Saturday evenings, buskers, jugglers and a live marching band perform holiday tunes.

The Candy Carnival features carnival games with airport-exclusive prizes

Changi Airport Group Executive Vice President of Airport Management Jayson Goh said, “We invite visitors and travellers to immerse in the joy of the holiday season and join us for an enchanting experience at the Changi Festive Village.

“Our candy-themed activities add a sweet twist to the carnival and promises to be a delightful haven for families and friends to create cherished moments together at Changi Airport.”

The Candy Carnival at T3 arrival hall includes carnival games, rides and Changi Airport-exclusive confectionery-themed prizes.

Passengers can test their aim at the virtual reality shooting game, take away plushies at the giant claw machine, or enjoy the Candy Bounce’s inflatable desserts castle. Children can have a go at the Candy Kart go-karting course.

Visitors can also savour carnival classics such as nachos, corndogs, takoyaki (octopus balls) and Korean cheese coin pancakes. Basement 2 invites kids to climb aboard the candy-coated trackless train, or hop aboard a merry-go-round.

Beyond the Candy Carnival lies the Candy Snow House, a world of snow and ice. Passengers can discover intricately carved ice sculptures which glow from within, such as a reindeer-drawn sleigh.

The space also features a three-lane five-metre-long snow slide and a three-metre-long ice luge. Travellers can compete in a game of basketball, snow bowling or mini golf on a course made of ice. This can be followed by a ride on a hand-pulled sleigh or a snow scooter.

Travelling families can also experience ‘A Candylicious Night at the Airport’ at Changi Experience Studio (CES) in Jewel Changi Airport. Kids can discover their inner Picasso at the chocolate art jamming workshop by using vibrant colours to create edible art. They can also decorate festive truffle balls.

Passengers can enjoy packaged activities like Candy Kart and the bouncy castle at T3 Candy Carnival, the Candy Snow House, as well as admission to CES. After a fun-filled yet tiring day, they can nap in candy-themed tents at CES.

The experience is continued off-aisle through a virtual version of Changi’s festive ‘candyland’ in ChangiVerse on Roblox: CandyVerse. Users can go on a hunt and find parts to build their own toy which doubles as their avatar’s wearable. They can chase presents to win prizes such as limited-edition dino user generated content, or rewards that can take them to Changi’s real-life ‘candyland’.

Passengers can get a head start on gift-giving at the themed pop-ups in Terminals 2 and 3. The offerings include everything from BT21 to Craftholic and Mofmo Friends, Mickey Loves SG to Miffy and more. Each pop-up has its distinctive design and photo spot for visitors to capture a shot for their social channels.

Visitors to Changi can spend a minimum of S$50 (US$36.93) in the public areas, Jewel Changi Airport, on iShopChangi or S$100 (US$73.87) in the transit areas, which will qualify them to purchase the Changi Candy premiums from S$7.90 (US$5.84). The purchasing of the premiums is done via the Changi App and collection is at the redemption booths located across the terminals.

Additional offers include savings of up to S$40 (US$29.55) off in return vouchers. Travellers can use Changi Pay to get an additional S$5 (US$3.69) return e-voucher. Changi Rewards members can redeem a complimentary Luggage and Travel Bag with a net spend of S$1,800 (US$1329.62), or S$1,500 (US$1108.02) for Gold and Platinum members.
