SNI Group to take Clöudz travel concept to Cannes

INTERNATIONAL. Following the appointment of Charles Pelegrin as Vice President Global Business Development at SNI Group, the US-based company is stepping up the activities of its two global travel retail concepts, Luxury for Less and Clöudz.

SNI Group will be exhibiting its innovations at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Sea & Sky Supply stand number: Blue Village G31). Sea & Sky Supply is the international distributor for Clöudz.

Pelegrin, who joined SNI at the end of January 2011, has many years of experience in the industry as a former executive at Bijoux Terner, where he was instrumental in establishing the company’s single price concept in both the domestic and travel retail channels. Today, he is hoping to replicate his success at Luxury for Less.

A few months after his appointment, Pelegrin spent a busy week re-connecting with travel retail industry colleagues at the 2011 IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in March, where the diverse offerings of Luxury for Less and Clöudz were showcased on the Sea & Sky Supply exhibition booth.

While Clöudz opened a branded kiosk at Singapore Changi Terminal 2 last year, Luxury for Less has no outlets yet but that is expected to change rapidly under Pelegrin, as he explained to The Moodie Report.

“We’re developing the Luxury for Less brand now,” he said. “We offer a huge assortment geared to travel retail at different price points. We have accessories and home goods, as well as watches, handbags, jewellery, sunglasses, pashminas, scarves and shawls, to name a few”¦ There’s a big demand for men’s goods, and we have a huge variety of products for men, from A to Z. We’ve even got a range of gift-boxed wine stoppers on animal and sports themes,” he notes, pointing to the wine stopper display on the booth. “We’re developing the women’s side now.”

The company’s list of skus spans some nine pages and indeed offers a wide collection of gift items for both men and women, many of which follow fashion trends. Under the Basic Necessities collection, for example, buyers can choose from gift-boxed designer silk ties, men’s and women’s belts and cufflinks, among other items. Products have different retail price points, starting at US$10, and spanning US$20, US$30, US$40 and US$50.

“Our USP is that we cater to the needs of our clients. We’re finding that airports want something more exclusive,” said Pelegrin. To that end, the luxury accessories include rhinestone belts, fedora hats, and the enticingly named “˜luxury bling sunglasses’.

As Pelegrin sets about harnessing his vast experience to develop the Luxury for Less retail concept, the Clöudz brand of travel pillows and accessories continues to grow. It includes a number of new products for children on the move, including the Giddy Up range of colouring pens and games boasting world-renowned brand names such as Disney and Barbie; as well as animal-themed luggage tags.
