CANADA. SSP Canada has opened the first airport location of healthy fast-casual brand Freshii at Toronto Pearson International Airport Terminal 3.
The brand’s slogan is “Eat. Energize.” and Freshii said its Founder Matthew Corrin’s mission was to create a model that was scalable, branded and would help people avoid bad dietary habits by providing convenient and affordable healthy options.
Founded in 2005, Freshii has locations in Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles and abroad, providing over 70 fresh, colourful and nutritious ingredients, dressings, and 20 new chef-designed menu items. The menu includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack options which can be customised for personal dietary needs.

“Eat. Energize”: Freshii aims to promote healthy eating by providing convenient, affordable and nutritious food |
SSP America Vice President of Brands and Concepts Pat Carroll commented: “At SSP, we want to make our customers happy. And, in order to make our customers happy, we listen to what they want. Today’s travelling consumers are fully aware of the role nutrition plays in their overall health and well-being and have made it clear to us that they want healthy, nutritious food options when they travel.
“Working with our partners at Toronto Pearson, together, we realised that Freshii was a perfect fit for this public demand – offering affordable, quick and convenient fresh food that caters to numerous dietary preferences. Freshii has gained an ever-increasing customer loyalty in over 80 stores worldwide and will no doubt gain the same loyalty with travellers worldwide too.”

Greater Toronto Airports Authority Vice President of Guest and Terminal Services Pamela Griffith-Jones added: “We know that our guests are going to love having Freshii as a great healthy new food option at Toronto Pearson. We know our guests are looking for variety in dining choices at the airport and we have focused over the last year on providing just that. Having Freshii now in Terminal 3 gives our guests another great choice when looking for a quick healthy meal. The airport Freshii location uses the same menu and pricing as other Freshii locations in the area.”
