The 180sq m Caffè Nero outlet at Gatwick has the capacity to seat 82 people, and is located in the airport’s North Terminal |
UK. BAA Gatwick has launched three new food outlets in time for the busy summer holiday season.
BAA, which has spent the past few months developing its dining offering at Gatwick, has opened a Café Rouge and a Caffè Nero in the North Terminal and a Costa Coffee in the South Terminal.
At over 180sq m, Caffè Nero can seat 82 people. Providing customers with a relaxed and welcoming environment, the coffee chain is also the first to introduce a new service system to cater for high volume footfall.
The Café Rouge outlet is more than 300sq m in size and seats 233 people. Located after security, the restaurant will offer a taste of Paris and extensive views of Gatwick’s airfield, said BAA.
The arrivals follow the opening of Armadillo in April, a new restaurant concept from The Restaurant Group. It serves a variety of dishes with a distinct South American influence including buttermilk pancakes, jambalaya, Santa Fe cobb salad, tequila mojito and fresh juices.
In the South Terminal, the new 201sq m Costa Coffee outlet has been built to effectively handle even the busiest peaks in passenger numbers and boasts four till points as well as a new service system and terraced seating.
Gatwick Commercial Director Mike Luddy said: “Gatwick’s priority has always been to provide a great passenger experience. The three new outlets recognise the feedback that we have received from our passengers and are designed to handle high volumes of traffic effectively whilst also catering to a variety of tastes and needs. We are confident that the latest additions will enable passengers to start their holiday before they even fly.”
