Swarovski dazzles Hong Kong International with 15m Christmas tree

Swarovski has partnered JCDecaux Transport in an advertising project which saw the creation of what is claimed as the tallest Christmas tree ever erected at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), decorated with over a million Swarovski crystals.

The display also features digital interactive touch screen technology, which lets holiday travellers take photos under the 15m tree and create customised e-greeting cards that can be shared via e-mail and social media.

It is positioned in a location that is highly visible from both the arrivals and departures levels, creating “incomparable impact” on both travellers and meeters and greeters, JCDecaux said.

JCDecaux Transport General Manager Shirley Chan said: “JCDecaux Transport takes pride in having successfully managed this extraordinary project for Swarovski. We strive to provide our advertisers with an innovative advertising platform which allows them creative flexibility in executing their advertising ideas and engaging solutions to help them connect further with target audience.

“Our team will continue to work tirelessly in delivering the best and most professional service to our clients to ensure the achievement of their advertising goals.”

The month of December is one of the top three busiest travel periods of the year at HKIA, according to JCDecaux, exposing advertisers to over five million passengers during the Christmas and New Year travel season.
