The new Glenfarclas presentation includes a line drawing of the distillery, an adjusted logo and a new Grant family monogram |
UK. Glenfarclas Distillery, established in 1836, is celebrating the launch of new packaging for its 15, 21 and 25 Years Old Single Highland Malt Whiskies, which is designed to emphasise the family-owned distillery’s traditional values.
The new presentation includes a line drawing of the distillery, an adjusted Glenfarclas italics logo and a new Grant family monogram. The rebranding aims to improve the impact of the high quality brand.
The line drawing shows the pagoda as an essential part of the Glenfarclas story but has been re-interpreted to position the product and the distillery in the context of the Speyside landscape. The monogram uses the initials of the J&G Grant family, who have managed the distillery for five generations. Using this monogram helps to reinforce the heritage of Glenfarclas and endorse its traditional values, the company said.
The relaunch will be supported by a full sales and marketing programme to include events in London, Edinburgh and Speyside, and advertising and promotional activity.
Commenting on the re-brand, George Grant, Brand Ambassador and sixth generation of the family who own and manage Glenfarclas, said: “For six generations my family have taken the quality of the whisky we produce personally. Please be assured we have not changed what is in the bottle, simply improved the packaging so it is now more reflective of the quality of Glenfarclas.”
Glenfarclas named Distiller of the Year
In other news, Glenfarclas was announced Distiller of the Year at the whisky industry’s Icons of Whisky dinner held on 2 March 2006.
The award, organised by Whisky Magazine, was presented to the company that has shown the most commitment to the development of whisky at all levels.
The magazine selected a shortlist for the sought-after award, which included nominations from across the world. The list included Chivas Brothers, Diageo, Glenrothes, Inver House and Nikka.
Key industry personnel were invited to vote for the company they thought most deserved the award. Glenfarclas scooped the award “for being consistently good and staying true to its core values”.
Commenting on the win, George Grant, Brand Ambassador for Glenfarclas commented: “I am delighted with this award. Having produced our whisky for over 170 years, we are not a new kid on the block and it is fantastic that those within the industry recognise that we have continued to produce consistently good quality whisky.”
