CHINA. Passenger traffic at China Southern Airlines, China’s largest carrier, rose +17.1% in the first quarter of 2004 to 6.4 million passengers.
March traffic was also up +22.9% year-on-year to 2.3 million passengers.
The passenger load factor in March was up 5.9 percentage points from a year earlier at 67.7%.
The carrier’s passenger numbers rose +2.1% year-on-year in February to 1.8 million, after recording a +26% jump in passengers in January, on the back of robust traffic due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
