USA. Duty Free Americas will hold its next annual golf and tennis tournament on 31 January 2019 at the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort in Florida. All proceeds will go to the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
It is the second time that the charity event is supporting the foundation, whose mission is to end neurofibromatosis (NF). The genetic disorder causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body. NF is something people are born with; it can be inherited and affects all ethnicities, races and genders.
Children’s Tumor Foundation aims to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for children suffering from the disease. The foundation is regarded as the world’s leading non-profit funding source of NF research and the implementation of its research initiatives has led to progress being made on all fronts and for all types of NF.
The inaugural Duty Free Americas Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held in September 2014 and the retailer, together with the Falic Family Foundation, has since raised over US$1 million to support the United Community Options of South Florida (formerly United Cerebral Palsy), the Breast Cancer Foundation, the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
