TRI-POD: The wonderful world of Okinawan whisky with Sabrina Sakhrani : Moodie Davitt Report

The latest edition of TRI-POD, The Moodie Davitt Report’s video podcast in association with Organico Group, features special guest Sabrina Sakhrani, Co-Founder of Sakhrani Distillery, a remarkable women-led whisky-making enterprise from Yanbaru on the beautiful southern Japanese island of Okinawa.

We featured Sabrina recently in our popular Local Heroes column on The Moodie Davitt Report, a section dedicated to emerging local and national brands, and her fascinating story prompted us to invite her to join us on TRI-POD.

For three decades, Sabrina has called Okinawa home, along the way building businesses across luxury, hospitality, finance, lifestyle, and now whisky.

Sakhrani is created and curated alongside a fifth-generation master distiller, Ayako Ikehara. Together they create spirits that reflect beautiful Okinawa’s climate, seasons, texture and pace of life.

Mother of three, builder by instinct and whiskey creator by passion, Sabrina Sakhrani makes a wonderful guest on TRI-POD. Co-hosts Roger Jackson (Organico Group Co-Founder) and Martin Moodie (The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman) discover both the person and the professional. Sabrina talks about early life growing up in Rome, her move as an adult to Hong Kong where she founded several successful companies, and what ultimately drew her to (and kept her in) Okinawa.
