NETHERLANDS. Eight Vincent Van Gogh paintings are on display at the Rijksmuseum branch at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol since yesterday.
The exhibition is called “˜Vincent Van Gogh: Nature Close-Up’ and can be seen at Schiphol’s airside area between piers E and F until 7 July 2008.
It offers passengers at the airport an exclusive opportunity to view the artist’s most well-known work, including the famous Almond Tree in Blossom (1888), away from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
The exhibition highlights how Vincent Van Gogh depicted nature in a unique way, by zooming in on his subject. The show also offers a concise outline of Van Gogh’s artistic development.
The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol is located on Holland Boulevard and is open daily from 7 am to 8 pm with free admission. The museum features a regular exhibition of ten works by Dutch masters of the Golden Age from the Rijksmuseum collection.
