William P. Lauder will provide his perspective on guiding a prestige beauty business through economic highs and lows |
INTERNATIONAL. Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has announced that William P. Lauder, the Executive Chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC), will be the industry keynote speaker at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition Conference in Cannes on Monday 19 October.
The Conference, which takes the theme “˜The Challenge of Change: Investing in people and mankind’, will stimulate discussion at the start of the 25th annual gathering for the duty free and travel retail industry.
In an interview-style keynote address with BBC HARDtalk presenter Stephen Sackur, Lauder will provide his perspective on guiding a highly successful prestige beauty enterprise through economic highs and lows.
The interview will include discussion on ELC’s principled approach to global environmental and economic matters and specifically its focus on women’s health issues. He will also reflect on how duty free and travel retail may evolve over the next 25 years.
Outgoing TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen will deliver the opening address at this year’s conference, looking at how travel retail has evolved over the last quarter century, assessing its status today and looking forward to the future of the industry and how current global issues and initiatives may affect it.
He will be followed by Economist, Historian, Futurist and Humanitarian Jacques Attali, who will give a sociological and economic perspective of society, human behaviour and the cyclical nature of economies and economic trends.
Finally, following the interview with William P. Lauder, former Boomtown Rats lead singer and international humanitarian Sir Bob Geldof will look at global geopolitical trends and their impact on business and populations in developing countries.
The TFWA World Exhibition Conference is free to all delegates registered for TFWA World Exhibition. Pre-registration closes on Thursday 10 September.
