Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (GTR) has released a new limited edition from its Scotch whisky brand, The Glenlivet, available exclusively at Heathrow Airport. Its introduction was timed to coincide with the opening of Dufry’s World Duty Free New Generation Store in the airport’s Terminal 3 on 17 September.
A Speyside Single Malt with an RRP of £350, The Glenlivet’s American Oak Barrel Single Cask Edition has been matured for 25 years before being bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration.
Just 222 bottles of the limited edition are available across Dufry’s World Duty Free and World of Whiskies stores at Heathrow. Each Single Cask Edition is individually numbered and presented in a hand-crafted wooden box.

Pernod Ricard Brand Director for Malts Lisa McCann said: “Global Travel Retail is an important channel for The Glenlivet and with there being such a high demand for rare and special malts we are excited to release the Glenlivet Single Cask Editions. Heathrow Terminal 3 is a key portal to the world for travellers and the opening of the next generation World Duty Free store offers us a perfect location for this new launch.”
Commenting on the new listing, Dufry Liquor Manager for the UK Matt Scott-Fairweather said: “Single cask bottlings offer something truly unique for our customers. Working with Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail to select this exceptional cask has been exciting for all those involved and we are sure that this whisky will be well received.”
On the palate: The Glenlivet says that American Oak Barrel Single Cask Edition captures the rich and distinct flavour of the cask, locking in its character and resulting in aromas of warming ginger spice and soft poached pears in vanilla cream. Tasting notes feature sweet orchard fruit flavours, peaches in golden syrup, balanced with juicy blackcurrants and a delicate oaky finish.
