World of Patria International (WOPI) has reached an agreement with UK-based Chase Distillery to represent the latter’s range of spirits and liqueurs in global travel retail.
This distinctive range, which includes unusual items such as Chase English Potato Vodka and Chase Marmalade Vodka, will receive its first showing outside UK airports at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas next month (Booth 1300).
Chase English Potato Vodka is made from the distillery’s home grown Lady Rosetta and Lady Claire varieties on owner William Chase’s farm in Herefordshire. Distilled five times in the company’s handcrafted copper still before being chill filtered and hand-bottled, the vodka is said to have “a mild creamy quality” and a note of almonds. The award-winning vodka has won double gold at the World San Francisco Spirits Competition and Gold at the Vodka Masters and Great Taste Awards 2009.
Chase Marmalade Vodka marinates Seville oranges with vodka in the copper still for 24 hours. The vodka is then distilled a fourth time with the vapours passing through orange peel to give off the oils and colour. Clear with a slight golden hue, this vodka has a bitter-sweet palate with a slightly syrup mouth feel, rich orange zest and bitter marmalade notes.
William’s Chase Gin is the latest addition to the range. According to WOPI, it is a relatively unknown fact that gin is made from vodka, and, unlike other gins William’s Chase gin is single estate from field to bottle.
Organically grown apples from the Chase farm are pressed and fermented into cider, before being distilled into vodka. This is then re-distilled into gin by infusing 11 wild botanicals and naturally pure water taken from the aquifer that runs underneath their orchards. The result is a full bodied, sharp, yet fruity gin, WOPI claimed.

Finally, Chase offers a number of award-winning Fruit Liqueurs combining Potato Vodka with fresh fruit from the farm. The range includes Raspberry, Blackcurrant, White Peach, Rhubarb and Elderflower – useful for mixing with Champagne, in cocktails or with desserts.
World of Patria International Director Kevin Baker said: “We discovered Chase Distillery last year when the company launched its Chase Marmalade Vodka with World Duty Free at [London Heathrow] Terminal 5 and were immediately impressed at the unique look and quality of the product. So we are delighted to now be working with the company to distribute its full range into travel retail.
“World of Patria is all about delivering exceptional products to the travel retail sector – products which offer a point of difference compared to others out there; products which offer the travelling consumer an interesting and unique choice with lines that they are unlikely to have come across on the home market. The Chase Distillery range is a perfect fit within the WOPI portfolio.”
William Chase from Chase Distillery’s added: “The Chase range has achieved prestige distribution within the UK with clients including Claridges Hotel, Caviar House & Prunier, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, The Dorchester Hotel, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and The Ritz. We’ve also developed a real presence overseas in North America, the Middle East, China and throughout Europe. This year we’re expecting to expand that further with new business in Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Lebanon, India and Norway. So Chase Distillery is very much an international brand.
“In travel retail, apart from World Duty Free, our products are also served in the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Lounge. The exclusivity and uniqueness of our range is, we believe, perfect for travel retail and so we are delighted to be working with World of Patria International who has the expertise and client base to help us achieve our goals.”
