“Exceptional leader”: Zippo President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Paup |
Zippo has appointed Mark Paup as President and Chief Executive Officer. He was previously Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the company.
Paup takes over from Greg Booth, who retires after 16 years as CEO.
The Zippo Board of Directors noted that in Paup’s 22 years at the company he had been instrumental in boosting sales through his role in strategic planning, product diversification and in restructuring the sales and marketing departments.
As CEO, he will be tasked with enhancing the company’s international expansion and reputation as a lifestyle brand.
Paup was appointed to the Zippo Board of Directors in 2011 and is also President of the supervisory board of Zippo Europe and a director of Zippo Asia.
Zippo owner and Chairman of the Board George Duke said: “The time is right for Paup to become Zippo’s next president and CEO. He is an exceptional leader, with a demonstrated track record of implementing complex growth strategies. I look forward to partnering with him in his new role to continue the company’s strong legacy of innovation.”
