CANADA. Global restaurateur HMSHost, an Avolta company, has opened its Henderson Brewery @ YYZ bar at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The venture is a collaboration between HMSHost, local craft brewery Henderson Brewing Company and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers rock band Rush.
Rush composed YYZ (the airport’s code), an instrumental rock track, for the Moving Pictures album as an ode to their hometown Toronto in 1981.
Rush’s bass player and lead singer Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson mingled with passengers for the grand opening at the airport bar, which features Canadian beers from Henderson Brewing Company.
One of those beers, Rush Canadian Golden Ale, is brewed in honour of the rock group. Airport-exclusive merchandise from the world-famous band is also available from the bar, which features original artefacts from Rush’s touring and recording career.
The 28-seat Henderson Brewery @ YYZ is in a prime, pre-security area of Terminal 1. It is situated just steps away from the escalators leading into the terminal from the Union Pearson Express.
