UK. SSP UK & Ireland has opened Monty’s American Diner at Leeds Bradford Airport, expanding its food & beverage offer at the Yorkshire gateway as the airport continues its terminal redevelopment.
The all-day dining concept, which opened on Monday (21 September), is located in the departures lounge and offers American-inspired food and drink, with a particular focus on families.
Monty’s – the second in the SSP stable after the first opened at Liverpool Airport in January this year (see our story here) – joins SSP’s existing portfolio at Leeds Bradford, which includes the Tap + Brew Craft Beer Bar and Kitchen.
The diner serves breakfast until 11am, with a menu featuring waffles, French toast bites, chicken and waffles, traditional breakfasts and American-style bagels.
Its all-day offer includes smash burgers, chicken wings, hot dogs, mac & cheese and BBQ platters, alongside a dedicated children’s menu.
The drinks selection spans soft drinks, thick shakes, alcoholic ‘hardshakes’ and cocktails.
Leeds Bradford Airport CEO Vincent Hodder said, “We hope this new addition will provide travellers with even more dining options, especially for those travelling with children as we expect Monty’s to be a hit with families.
“As more and more people choose to travel through Leeds Bradford Airport, we are continuing to work with our retail partner SSP to open new concepts like Monty’s.”
SSP UK & Ireland Chief Property & Business Development Officer Stuart Buchanan highlighted changing passenger behaviour and the growing importance of the airport dining experience.
He commented, “Passengers are heading to the airport earlier and being called to their gate later, meaning there is a greater expectation for unique, value-led propositions that enhance their time at the airport before boarding.
