Male shoppers can now ride out that mid-life crisis on a new Harley Davidson |
UAE. Abu Dhabi Duty Free has launched a new retail promotion allowing shoppers to enter a raffle draw to win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
In an effort to increase penetration and average spend, customers receive a raffle ticket for every AED100 (US$27) they spend on gifts and souvenirs. Products on offer include jewellery, handbags, local souvenirs, toys, gifts and the Nestlé Genie chocolate lamps in duty free exclusive packaging. The gifts and souvenirs are available in airside and landside duty free in Terminal 1 and airside in Terminal 2.
Abu Dhabi Duty Free said the prize on offer is being received with much enthusiasm. It noted: “This machine is a virtual artwork, a favourite boy-toy and a dream come true for any bike lover who has the need for speed or is “˜living through a mid-life crisis’. This classic motorcycle is 2.4 meters in length and with a 1450cc engine it can reach speeds of 180km per hour. It sits way above the ground with a seat height of 622mm. It has a torque of 120@3,500 rpm and a wheel base of 1,630mm.”
Abu Dhabi Duty Free and Catering Managing Director Mohamed Mounib commented: “For the first time ever customers are not paying simply to be part of the raffle for the star prize but are actually buying high quality goods with a ticket being an added bonus. We aim to constantly introduce innovative concepts to our customers while still maintaining value for money.”
The Harley promotion follows the “overwhelming success” of last year’s high profile promotion – the Nestlé Genie Volkswagen Beetle raffle.
