Aldeasa to begin Vancouver International Airport operations three months early – 22/09/06

CANADA. Spanish travel retailer Aldeasa is to begin its new concession at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on 1 March 2007, three months earlier than expected.

From that date Aldeasa will join YVR’s retail programme as the sole operator of its duty free concessions.

Initially scheduled to join YVR in June 2007, Aldeasa is arriving early to complete renovations on existing stores to coincide with the opening of YVR’s International Terminal.

The new wing, expected to open in early June 2007, will feature new retail and food & beverage outlets.

The Nuance Group, YVR’s exclusive duty free retailer since 1994, has agreed to terminate its contract early in order to accommodate the ongoing construction. “The Nuance Group’s departure on February 28, 2007 will enable YVR’s duty-free operations to make a seamless transition,” the airport said in a statement.
