CHINA. Leading travel retailer China National Service Corporation (CNSC) has unveiled its relocated Hangzhou downtown duty-free at Jiebai Department Store.
Located in a busy commercial district, the store introduces the ‘pay in store, pick up at the port’ model, allowing outbound travellers to purchase duty-free goods in advance and collect from a dedicated space at their point of departure.

In response to the updated downtown duty-free store policy, CNSC’s Hangzhou Store has brought duty-free shopping to the city’s commercial core, serving both domestic and international travellers with confirmed outbound flights from the city within 60 days.

The store has realigned its category mix around three strategic themes – combining duty-free and duty-paid operations, showcasing both international luxury and China-chic heritage brands, and a connected offline-online shopping experience.

In addition to core offerings in prestige beauty and fine wines, the store has expanded into cultural and intangible heritage crafts, delivering a diversified retail ecosystem that integrates global and Chinese brands to meet a wide range of consumer demands, from personal purchases to premium gifting.
By establishing a presence in Jiebai Department Store, CNSC noted its plans to collaborate with the mall on foot traffic sharing, mutual membership benefits and joint marketing campaigns.

Their joint efforts aim to energise the West Lake commercial district and elevate Hangzhou towards its ambition of becoming a global shopping hub.
To mark its reopening, the store has rolled out a range of exclusive promotions across multiple categories, including popular skincare products discounted by up to -70%, limited-time offers on best-selling items, and select domestic premium spirits available at special promotional rates.

Pearl jewellery gift sets are offered at fixed, limited-time prices, with additional member rewards, in-store gifts and spend-based discounts boosting shopper engagement.
CNSC Hangzhou downtown duty-free store’s reopening reflects the retailer’s support for new downtown duty-free policies and the national push to expand domestic consumption, while reinforcing its role in driving industrial innovation and urban commercial growth.
Looking ahead, CNSC noted its plans to enhance its retail offerings, connect Chinese and international markets, and promote exchanges between domestic brands and global premium products to contribute to national development goals. ✈
