Constellation introduces new Chilean brand Gran Tierra |
UK. Constellation Europe Ltd, part of US group Constellation Brands Inc, will be showcasing flagship wines from its portfolio at the 2009 TFWA Tax Free Exhibition in Cannes next week.
Visitors are invited to meet representatives from Constellation and Vincor, producer of Inniskillin icewine, one of the world’s best distributed wines in duty free (stand number: Yellow Village D26.
Along with a wide selection of New World wines at different price points, the company will also be showcasing new packaging.
Constellation Vice President Sales Europe Rupert Firbank explained: “Constellation Europe has a strong portfolio of premium, award-winning wines and we are proud to showcase a selection at this year’s TFWA.
“For Constellation the show is a chance to bring together the best New World wine portfolio under one roof and to demonstrate not just the breadth of portfolio but also the depth. TFWA highlight: Inniskillin Sparkling Vidal Icewine |
The wine portfolio includes:
Inniskillin: Established in 1975, Inniskillin is one of Canada’s primary wineries and its icewines are rated in the top 100 wine brands of the world, winning numerous awards. Highlights include Inniskillin Vidal Sparkling Wine, Inniskillin Riesling and Inniskillin Cabernet Franc.
Gran Tierra: Constellation launched new Chilean brand Gran Tierra this month and two wines from the range will be exhibited for the first time at TFWA. The popularity of Chilean wines is increasing as consumers recognise the country’s natural wine-making environment and good quality wines, the company said. Gran Tierra’s Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc will be shown.
Premium Wine Estate:
Robert Mondavi’s winery is renowned for producing best-of-class wines. The iconic Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 will be shown alongside Robert Mondavi Napa Valley wines Fumé Blanc 2007, Chardonnay 2005 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2005.
Ravenswood winery is one of the leaders in Zinfandel and the wines produced are described as big and gutsy, with intense spicy, complex aromas and bouquets supported by rich, berry-like flavours with long, clean finishes. Ravenswood Lodi Zinfandel 2007 is a full-bodied wine that boasts ripe, warm blueberry and plum fruit with well-integrated tannins.
Eileen Hardy Chardonnay and Shiraz represent some of the finest wines from the Southern Hemisphere. Each vintage is made from the best grapes grown on the Hardys estate every year. The Eileen Hardy Chardonnay 2006 and Eileen Hardy Shiraz 2001 will be presented at Cannes.
Flagstone’s fine collection of sustainably produced wines from South Africa include the Flagstone Dragon Tree 2007, which delivers blackcurrant, cloves, toffee and hints of chocolate, and Flagstone Free Run Sauvignon Blanc 2009, with notes of fig leaves, green pepper and star fruit.
Kim Crawford produces the best wines from every grape variety and wine-growing region in New Zealand under one label. This year Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009 and Kim Crawford Marlborough Pinot Noir 2008 will be shown at TFWA.
