USA. DFASS Group has acquired majority ownership and become the sole managing partner of the TRG joint venture in Dallas, Texas.
TRG operates the duty free concession at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). DFASS Group now has full majority interest in the TRG – with no change in its ACDBE partners.
DFASS said that the purchase indicates the group’s strong commitment to invest in airport retail in the Americas to become an industry leader in the region – complementing its global leadership in inflight duty free retailing.
“DFASS, via the TRG joint venture, is proud to operate the duty free concession ay Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, one of the world’s premier airports, and we are glad to solidify our long term strategy in DFW through our ongoing investments, including the purchase of original TRG joint venture partners’ shares,” said DFASS Vice Chairman Roberto Graziani.
“DFASS is committed to ongoing investments in airport retailing in the Americas to regularly update the shopping experience for the traveller through retail innovation and customer service.”
DFASS founded over 30 years ago by Miami-based entrepreneur Benny Klepach developed initially as a pioneer of the inflight retail, supply and pouring sector. In recent years the company has grown its footprint in airport duty free and specialty shops in the Americas, giving the company a growing status in global travel retail.
“Today’s announcement confirms the company’s commitment to invest and expand their business in airport retail, making use of the most innovative technologies and retail activities to surprise, pamper, and best serve their customers,” DFASS said.
TRG won the DFW duty free concession in 2015 and has won several industry awards for the main store’s layout, brand line-up and use of technology. It is the largest duty free store in the Americas.
