The new duty free store at Harvest Caye Island is expected to open in early 2016 |
LATIN AMERICA. DFASS and its Belize partner, Sam’s International, have signed an agreement to develop a new duty free store at the Harvest Caye Island development, Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest destination.
The 140sq m store will service in excess of 1.2 million cruise passengers annually, according to DFASS, and will feature a broad range of international spirits, tobacco, fragrances and gifts as well as local specialty products.
The new store is expected to open in early 2016 and represents further expansion of the DFASS duty free/specialty retail store portfolio. DFASS currently operates additional stores in Belize with its local partners at the International Airport, Punta Gorda and Benque border crossings.
DFASS Group Ground Stores President Jon Potash said; “The Harvest Caye project has come about due to the strong collaboration of our local partners and Norwegian Cruise Lines. We are very excited to add yet another retail shop in Belize as we have enjoyed a long and productive tenure on the island and are looking forward to many more years of success.”
