INTERNATIONAL Following the acquisition of retail operations in Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Armenia and Martinique plus the purchase of the IOSC wholesale platform announced on 4 August, Dufry this morning unveiled several organisational changes and new appointments.
Region South America
The newly acquired operations in South America (Region 5) will be led by Oscar Garcia Pedrosa who has been appointed Deputy Chief Operations Officer of a new business unit established in Region 5, with responsibility for Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador.
Pedrosa will report to José Carlos Rosa, Chief Operations Officer of Region South America, and will also assume responsibility as Country General Manager for Argentina. Dufry said he brings to this new position a wealth of experience as Deputy Chief Operations Officer gained in Puerto Rico since January 2007, and a long track record in the travel retail industry.
Diego Arrosa will continue in his position as the Country General Manager for Uruguay reporting to Oscar Garcia Pedrosa. “Diego brings to Dufry outstanding experience from the Uruguay Duty Free business,” said Dufry.
Carlos Alberto De Souza has been appointed Country General Manager for Ecuador and will also Report to Oscar Garcia Pedrosa. “Carlos has an extensive experience of 24 years in Dufry at our Brazilian Duty Free Operations,” the company commented.
Antonio Fabregat will continue in the position as General Manager of IOSC and will report to José Antonio Gea, Global Chief Operating Officer.
Mauricio Dávila has been appointed to the new position of Deputy Regional Finance Director at Region 5, and will report to Oscar García Pedrosa, and functionally to the Regional and Global Finance management. He has four years experience at Dufry, and previously held the position of Finance Director in Region Central America + Caribbean.
Martín Leal (formerly Interbaires Chief Executive Officer) and Sergio Rinaldo (formerly Ecuador Duty Free General Manager) will leave Dufry to pursue new challenges. Region Eurasia
The operation in Armenia will be integrated into the business unit comprising of the Russian and Serbian Operations, under the responsibility of David Grady – Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the respective business unit. Garnik Vardanyan will continue in the position of Country General Manager for Armenia, reporting to David Grady.
Region Europe
The new operation in Martinique will be integrated into the business unit of Central Europe under the remit of Daniel Garcia (Deputy Chief Operating Officer). Christophe Mazaud, Area Retail Manager who currently covers Guadeloupe, will additionally assume responsibility for the Martinique operation.
