ELECTRONICS & CAMERAS: Munich goes high tech

GERMANY. Technology products, a new BMW Lifestyle Store and others by Leaders and Nokia feature in Munich airport’s new terminal 2 which opens on 29 June. Altogether 110 retail and restaurant units are being created over three levels in one of Europe’s most state-of-the-art passenger facilities.

The diversity of retail and catering offer reflects Munich’s international hub status as well as the strong ties to its Bavarian roots. Unlike shopping at Munich´s original T1, the new T2 focuses commercial activities within the airside areas.

Stores in the T2 public areas (landside) will feature a Nokia mobile telephone outlet, zoned together with convenience stores, a bakery, flowers and gifts. Airside in the main “marketplace” electronics will feature in the Travel Value store operated by Eurotrade, the retail subsidiary of Flughafen Munchen. Another major attraction in the Shengen departures area is the first-ever “BMW Lifestyle Flagship Store” with replica cars, clothing, accessories and other non-motorized BMW merchandise.
