INDIA. The new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, near Hyderabad, is nearing completion and is bang on schedule for a March 2008 opening.
The airport is being built and operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GMR-HIAL), a consortium led by India’s powerful GMR Group.
An ambitious commercial offer is now almost completely assigned to concessionaires – some smaller food & beverage operations are being finalised with an announcement due early this month.

He added: “Munich Airport is our Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) consultants for this purpose and have been working with us for the last four to six months and shall help in this seamless transition in March and work for a quarter [year] thereafter to stabilise the same. “They have handled airport transfers in Munich, Kuala Lumpur from Subang to Sepang, Athens Airport prior to the Olympics, Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok and now Hyderabad, besides other terminal transfers like Changi Terminal Three, Heathrow, Madrid and others.”
