NORTH AMERICA. HMSHost has launched its Airport Restaurant Month initiative across a number of North American airports during October.
The initiative is now in its fifth year. For the first time, the company will donate US$1 to the HMSHost Foundation for each Airport Restaurant Month dish sold at participating locations throughout the month. The foundation’s mission is to fight poverty with food, shelter, education and workforce development opportunities by directing its charitable investments to organisations that are creating stronger, viable communities, HMSHost said.

The latest edition of Airport Restaurant Month will also feature an expanded, seasonally-focused menu. Seasonal dishes have been matched with wine pairings in an attempt to create an elevated airport experience, HMSHost said.
“Airport Restaurant Month is just one example of how HMSHost offers travellers unique dining experiences and culinary events in the airport. Our chefs were inspired with fall ingredients resulting in creative menus with broad appeal,” said HMSHost Vice President of Marketing Atousa Ghoreichi.
“Not only can guests enjoy innovative dining, they will also have the opportunity to give back to a great cause with the HMSHost Foundation.”
HMSHost has also created a single-plated Chef’s Tasting Menu designed specifically with a traveller’s need for speed of service in mind. Each restaurant’s menu is customised and dishes are being presented in a street-side dining style.
