SINGAPORE. Our selection of images features the visual spectacle of colour and blooms jazzing up Jewel Changi Airport.

The entertainment complex is showcasing abundant and beautiful floral displays to celebrate Jewel Blooms: Splendours of Singapore, its first-ever event dedicated to the world of plants and flowers. The ten-day festival runs until 10 September.

The event highlights original floral installations from Singapore’s leading floral designers including Anson Low, Christopher Lim and Damien Koh, among others.

An exquisite collection of ten floral artworks by these talents is on display at the Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park, with each a botanical ode to Singapore’s history, culture, food and national flower.

One of the floral displays designed by Anson Low is a stunning re-creation of the HSBC Rain Vortex. It features a colour palette of blues, whites and greens – portraying nature and water – and is designed with flowers such as orchids, larkspur, flamingo lilies and sea hollies.

As part of the festival, a series of floral-themed activities are being held including workshops and the first Youth Floral Cup – a junior floral competition for budding florists between the ages of seven and 12.

The festival also includes the Jewel Blooms Marketplace at the Basement 1 Atrium, which houses 12 stalls run by local artisans, plant nurseries and eco-friendly vendors offering new plants and tools.

The Plant Swap allows plant enthusiasts the opportunity to exchange and discover new additions to their plant collections.
