IRELAND. Well-known industry executive Joe Harvey has joined Irish premium food to go specialist Deli Lites as Business Development Manager – Travel. He is tasked with leading the company’s drive to grow in the airline, airport, rail and maritime channels.

Founded in 1994, Deli Lites is based in Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland and employs around 300 people. With a strong sustainability ethos around its handmade products, the company said it continues to fulfil its original vision to “reimagine how the world experiences food on the move”.

The company is well established in the production of high-quality chilled and frozen food-to-go through delivering chef-led innovation, with ambitions to grow worldwide. Its major product lines include hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, wraps,  and artisanal handheld snacks.

Since 2022, Deli Lites is also the only BCorp-certified sandwich manufacturer in the world, which the company said underlines its sustainability credentials and its appeal to airlines and other sectors of the travel market.

Deli Lites noted: “As a B Corporation, we prioritise social and environmental accountability, striving to make a positive impact on our environment, team and customers.”

The company also owns and manages its logistics operation, which it said ensures its products are safely and securely delivered to customers.

Deli Lites said: “We aim to offer an end-to-end convenient and high-quality food proposition to help our partner businesses excel and thrive. We have extensive expertise in fresh and frozen consumer goods and specialise in providing the ultimate food to go offering.”

Joe Harvey was previously Business Development Lead at digital ancillary services company Omnevo.

He has had many years of experience in the world of inflight retail. He spent seven years at Aer Lingus as part of the Cabin Crew Management Team, followed by six years at Tourvest Retail Services, where he was Global Crew Engagement Manager and later headed business development.

He later joined Retail in Motion as Global Head of Boutique Development and Crew Engagement before spending 18 months representing brands in travel retail as Owner & Founder of Shannon Retail Innovation.  ‍
