Kelly Rowland pops up at Dubai International for a surprise concert

The former member of Destiny’s Child enthralled the 3,200 guests at the Dubai Airshow 2013 Gala Dinner, held at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai last week

UAE.Grammy Award-winning multiplatinum superstar Kelly Rowland threw a surprise pop-up concert Tuesday last week for travellers and staff at Dubai International Airport Emirates Terminal 3, Concourse B.

The concert was courtesy of Big Time partners TW Steel, Dubai Airports, Dubai Duty Free and Rivoli Group.

Rowland, a brand ambassador for TW Steel watches, which are available in Dubai Duty Free shops, performed her worldwide hit, ‘When Love Takes Over,’ after fellow TW Steel brand ambassador DJ Mitchell Niemeyer got the crowd warmed up by pumping out some tunes.

Rowland’s pop-up concert was an exclusive first for the airport and she proved to be a hit with the crowd, according to organisers.

The video of the concert can be seen on TW Steel’s YouTube channel www.youtube.com/twsteelwatches searchable under the Twitter hashtag #popupkellyDXB.

Rowland also performed in Dubai last week as the headlining act at the Dubai Airshow 2013 Gala Dinner, which was jointly hosted by Dubai Duty Free, Emirates and Dubai Airports. The dinner was held at the Asateer Tent, Lawn and Garden Terrace at the Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai.
