Lagardère Travel Retail hails partnership with Air New Zealand loyalty programme

NEW ZEALAND. Lagardère Travel Retail has hailed the results of its recently-struck partnership with Airpoints, Air New Zealand’s loyalty programme. Since December 2017 Airpoints members can benefit from special offers and exclusive promotions if they spend in Aelia Duty Free stores in New Zealand, while also earning additional Airpoints.

The retailer said it has seen “a positive impact in the level of customer engagement together with an uplift in spend per passenger from customers travelling on Air New Zealand flights”.

Aelia Duty Free: Partnership with New Zealand’s national carrier is paying off in greater consumer engagement and higher average spend among loyalty club members, says the retailer

The Airpoints programme has 2.8 million members and 70 global partners. Air New Zealand General Manager Loyalty Mark Street said: “The partnership between Lagardère Travel Retail and Airpoints has seen a huge uptake in members earning Airpoints Dollars as they return from their trip. It is just another way to ensure our passengers are already thinking about where Airpoints will take them next.”

Lagardère Travel Retail Pacific Region CEO Przemyslaw Lesniak said: “It made perfect sense to partner with such a highly regarded programme. Our focus first and foremost is on our customers, so together with the high esteem the Airpoints programme is held in by its members, this partnership further enhances the customer experience in Aelia Duty Free.”

Lagardère Travel Retail runs Aelia Duty Free stores online and at Auckland, Dunedin and Queenstown airports in New Zealand.
