Lotte Duty Free puts food discovery in the spotlight with revamped Busan specialised zone

The refreshed food zone makes last-minute souvenir shopping a discovery experience

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has unveiled its upgraded specialised food zone at its Busan downtown store, bringing together an expanded selection of K-food, Japanese delicacies (J-Food) and global brands under one destination.

Opened on 21 July, the refreshed space showcases new brand partnerships, including Arih, developed in collaboration with K-pop powerhouse BTS, alongside Delight Project. The curated assortment also features popular Japanese snacks, travel retail-exclusive (TREX) products and internationally recognised dessert brands.

Further boosting the appeal of Lotte Duty Free’s snacks offer, Arih blends Korean food culture with the global appeal of K-pop powerhouse BTS

The expansion supports Lotte Duty Free’s strategy to capture rising demand for food offerings in travel retail and deliver a more diverse shopping experience for international visitors.

The refreshed zone introduces a selection of J-food bestsellers making their travel retail debut, including Tokyo Banana Cake, Hokkaido Milk Cake, Pudding Club Tart Cookies and Yubari Melon Cake – products previously not widely available in duty free.

It also features exclusive ramyeon special editions from collaborations with Korea’s leading ramen brands Nongshim and Samyang.

The initiative reflects the retailer’s strategy to respond to rising demand for pre-departure souvenir purchases and deliver diverse food shopping experiences tailored to today’s travellers.

Further strengthening its exclusive food portfolio, Lotte Duty Free has become the first travel retailer to introduce 7-Eleven-exclusive products, including the Tokushima Ramen – a collaborative creation by Harim, 7-Eleven and Eastar Jet.

Building on this partnership, the retailer plans to introduce more exclusive products with 7-Eleven in the future.

Alongside trending treats, Lotte Duty Free also showcases premium Korean specialities, including the newly launched Premium Kimchi by Lotte Hotels

The food zone will also feature duty-free exclusive offerings from Weeny Beeny, a personalised dessert concept where shoppers can customise their own selection of jellies and candies.

To celebrate the opening, Lotte Duty Free has launched a range of customer promotions featuring exclusive giveaways from key brands such as Arih, Weeny Beeny, Nongshim and Samyang. Shoppers who purchase qualifying products can receive limited-edition items, including keycaps, keyrings, Buldak sauce and tote bags, available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

The initiative further strengthens Lotte Duty Free’s food brand portfolio, featuring popular Korean brands such as Seza Coffee, Ediya Coffee and Bokhodu.

As reported, Lotte Duty Free exclusively launched Lotte Hotel’s Premium Kimchi brand at its Gimpo International Airport, Seoul store, ahead of a roll-out at Incheon International Airport from 12 August.
