Marc Jacobs makes a Splash with summer fragrance trio

Coty has unveiled Marc Jacobs Splash 2016, a trio of fragrances which aim to capture the essence of summer.

The “light and refreshing” trio of scents comprises the reissue “by popular demand” of Rain, alongside Cucumber and Cotton.

Marc Jacobs Rain, created by Laurent Le Guernec of IFF, is a watery floral with hints of wet cut grass, tropical rain and tree moss. Created to conjure up a cool, refreshing summer shower, the juice is coloured a subtle blue.

Described as a crisp, green, fresh fragrance, Marc Jacobs Cucumber was created by Mathieu Nardin of Robertet. Featuring top notes of watery cucumber and crisp bamboo, the scent has a floral heart of lily of the valley and freesia, with frosted musk and blonde woods providing the base. The juice has a cool, green tint which aims to evoke the freshness of a summer garden.

Created by Steven Claisse of Takasago, Marc Jacobs Cotton is inspired by cleanliness, comfort and simplicity. Top notes include peach, bergamot and aquatic accord. The heart of the fragrance contains lavender, jasmine and cotton accord with a base of white suede and blonde woods.

Marc Jacobs Splash 2016 will be available in travel retail outlets across Europe from April 2016 and in Asia Pacific and the USA from June 2016.
