Reiss is the latest arrival at Heathrow airport – 15/03/06

UK. Next month sees the arrival of the first-ever Reiss airport store – the latest project in BAA Retail’s 12-month enhancement of the London Heathrow terminal three retail offer.

“The introduction of Reiss comes in response to a continuing demand from the terminal’s international passengers for famous brands and luxury gifts,” said BAA Managing Director, UK Airport Retail, Colin Hargrave.

Other designer brands already in T3 Departures include Christian Dior, Jo Malone, Way In at Harrods and Paul Smith.

The new 108sq m open-plan store showcases the Reiss menswear and womenswear collections, leathergoods and jewellery.

Two luminescent screens, made up of translucent acrylic rods set at oblique angles, separate the womenswear from the menswear and provide a dramatic central focus, aimed at enticing shoppers. Colours and textures are combined to create the inviting retail environment – pale resin fine pebble flooring, white painted ceiling and delicate grey and white hand-sketched-style floral wallpaper adorn the women’s area. Fitting-rooms are offset by the darker tones of the menswear section of rich walnut and grey matt walls overlaid with dark geometric graphics.

Commenting on the store opening, Hargrave added: “The arrival of Reiss, one of the world’s leading aspirational fashion brands, at Heathrow is further evidence of our unrivalled retail proposition and demonstrates how we are continuously developing the offer at our airports to meet customer expectations.”
