Cointreau’s brand ambassador Dita Von Teese will be playing a role in boosting the visibility of the liqueur brand in the Americas |
US. Rémy Cointreau has announced that glamorous burlesque performer Dita Von Teese will perform at the Angel Church, New York on 22 April to boost the image of Cointreau liqueur in the Americas.
Dita Von Teese became ambassador of the brand in Autumn 2007 and made her Cointreau show debut in London before an invited audience on 13 December.
The performer’s association with Cointreau centres on its ‘Lips’ promotional campaign being conducted by the brand in global travel retail.
The campaign has seen the launch of the Cointreaupolitan signature drink – a mix of Cointreau, cranberry juice and lemon juice – which has been the focus of assisted tastings conducted by Maxxium Travel Retail Americas in airports such as Paris Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Singapore, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and San Juan pier shops.
The Cointreaupolitan promotional campaign has been “remarkably successful” with double- to triple-digit growth in sales in the participating airports, Cointreau said.
Reinforcements brought in for Rémy Martin Cognac
Through the Maxxium Travel Retail Americas team, Rémy Cointreau has also co-ordinated a series of promotions for Rémy Martin Cognac in airports such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hawaii, to reinforce the brand’s international and travel retail exclusive range.
The Heart of Cognac promotion aims to demonstrate to consumers the rarity and heredity of Rémy Martin which can trace its origins in the Cognac region of France over 300 years, said the company.
Rémy Martin wall bays and stand-alone displays have been installed at key outlets in the Americas in the last three years to enhance brand visibility.
