Daniel Swarovski’s Summer 2007 sunglasses feature large crystal squares on the temples |
AUSTRIA. Austrian eyewear manufacturer Silhouette has released the Spring/Summer 2007 crystal-encrusted sunglasses collection for Daniel Swarovski.
The design of the Summer in the City collection aims to signify luxury and sensuality with its 4-by-4mm crystal squares mounted in individual frames resembling building façades.
The cutting-edge design includes extra-wide temples covered with 15 crystal squares set in matt-coloured framing.
The Ready to Wear models are said to present contrast and extravagance with their design detail. The inner and outer contours of the large lenses do not run parallel, while the temples are decorated with six crystal squares.
Colours: Crystals are at the centre of the design, followed by the acetate material of shiny and matt surfaces. Models are available in olivine against khaki, or heliotrope against dark blue.
Materials: All-metal components are 23ct gold-plated. The high-quality acetate is made almost entirely from cotton and is said to have excellent wearing properties.
Technology: Crystals are set by hand on the temples on models. Dimensionally accurate beds are milled into the acetate and a coloured frame is set for each crystal.
Sun protection: The optical quality lenses ensure non-dazzle, distortion-free, high contrast vision. The lenses are also break-proof, lightweight and temperature-resistant. The use of a special hard coating prevents scratching and abrasion while ensuring durability and clear vision.
The Summer in the City collection is also available for men in two design variations:
Acetate square: This dynamic model is designed in full-colour acetate and is simple and straightforward. Part of the temple is specially developed using three master cut crystals.
New aviator style: This model features metal framing with unisex appeal. The slender metal temples hold Penta cut crystals. This precisely cut crystal was specially created by Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear with a clear-cut masculine character. The colours of the crystals are mirrored by the lenses.
