Sunglasses Awards short-list revealed; record number of entries received

This year’s awards attracted record numbers of entries, say organisers

INTERNATIONAL. The judging panel for the annual Sunglasses Awards has released the shortlist of nominations for the six category awards to be presented at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next week. The panel reviewed a record number of entries and shortlisted the following companies (alphabetical order):

– Enrico Molin, Duty Free Manager, De Rigo Vision

– Omar Hagi, Head of Global Travel Retail, Safilo

Head judge Francis Gros said: “All the shortlisted companies can be immensely proud of making the cut following an extremely competitive judging process. The shortlist really does represent the very best of sunglasses retailing, with a huge amount of innovation, flair and passion on display. The judging panel would like to thank all the companies that took the time to enter and we look forward to welcoming our partners to next week’s Sunglasses Workshop and Awards.”

The Sunglasses Awards forms part of the sixth Annual Sunglasses Workshop & Awards, which take place on 28 October.

Co-sponsored by leading sunglasses suppliers Luxottica, Marcolin, De Rigo, Marchon, Maui Jim and Safilo, the event provides a focal point for sunglasses in the travel retail calendar. The theme of this year’s Workshop & Awards is “Sunglasses in Travel Retail: The Trinity At Work”. It will be moderated by The Moodie Report Chairman Martin Moodie.
