US. Passenger traffic among the leading US carriers grew by +5.5% year-on-year in October, according to a new report from leading aviation analyst Air4casts.
The sample comprises figures from 14 leading airlines, which represent 52% of the market. The growth figure is also an increase on the +5% rise in September.
Crucially, noted Air4casts, both months were ahead of 2008 figures and also ahead of the 2007 peak in demand. October also posted the biggest growth of any month in 2010, underlining the Autumn period recovery.
Of the major airlines whose figures were surveyed, JetBlue showed the strongest growth at +16.4%, Skywest grew by +10.9%, Alaska Airlines by +9.9%, Southwest Airlines by +6.6% and Delta by +6.3%.
