“Pernod Ricard has always been very committed to Hainan and values its development. The first reason is that we believe in the effectiveness, stability and transparency of Hainan’s policies, which gives the brands great confidence. On the other hand, and more importantly, this gives us confidence in the market’s potential,”
That’s the view of Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail Vice President of Marketing Liya Zhang in a film interview just published by Hainan Hinews, The Moodie Davitt Report’s content partner in Hainan province.
The film was shot at The Trinity Forum held in Hong Kong last month, where Pernod Ricard was a Diamond Partner and provided the spirits, wines and Champagne at the Gala Dinner.
“Hainan is actually more than just a sales channel for Pernod Ricard. We have always regarded it as a communication window between brands and consumers. We are optimistic that it will become a platform for brands and consumers to establish closer connections,” Zhang continues, speaking to Hainan Hinews Head of the Duty Free TV Channel Lu Tianqin.
“I really hope to see Hainan become an international tourism destination in the next five to ten years, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to experience it. I believe that whether [we are talking] alcohol or cosmetics, Hainan is a great opportunity for various brands and categories.”
