World Duty Free launches into home delivery with BA World of Whiskies trial – 19/09/07

The power of partnership: World of Whiskies products will be available through British Airways Highlife Shop! onboard catalogue

UK. World Duty Free today announced the launch of its new home delivery service. In a pioneering partnership with British Airways, World Duty Free will offer a selection of World of Whiskies premium products through British Airways onboard catalogue, Highlife Shop!

The onboard trial will run until December offering five exclusive lines of whisky, specifically hand-picked from the World of Whiskies stores. The whiskies, available via mail order to all British Airways customers, range in price from £110 to £349 (US$220-700). The collection is displayed within the Highlife Shop! magazine and features detailed tasting notes for each product.

Speaking about the launch, World Duty Free Managing Director Mark Riches said: “The home delivery market is extremely significant to retailers and we are delighted to have teamed up with British Airways for our first venture. At World Duty Free we aim to offer choice to our customers through a variation of channels, and this service will give British Airways passengers the chance to sample some of the world class brands World Duty Free currently offers.”

Passengers either starting their journey or arriving home will be able to select from the range, which will then be delivered to any address in the UK on a date convenient to them.

The service is also available to British Airways passengers through the BA website: www.ba.com/giftshop

British Airways Retail Business Manager Richard Cushing concluded: “Mail order has been a great success for British Airways since its introduction two years ago. This opportunity to work with World Duty Free and offer our customers this prestigious collection from World of Whiskies, the specialist whisky store, extends this value added service even further.”
