UK/EGYPT. Fragrance house Ajmal Dubai has expanded its travel retail footprint with spaces at Birmingham and Cairo International airports in partnership with Avolta.

The collaboration introduces Ajmal Dubai’s fragrance portfolio into Avolta’s global travel retail ecosystem, strengthening the brand’s presence in the channel.

Ajmal Dubai’s presence at Cairo Airport introduces the brand to a diverse international passenger base travelling through one of the Middle East and Africa’s busiest aviation hubs.

The company continues to expand in travel retail through strategic airport partnerships. Some of the brand’s recent openings include Singapore Changi Airport with The Shilla Duty Free, Dubai International Airport with Dubai Duty Free and Zayed International Airport with ARI-led Travel Retail Sales and Services.

Ajmal Dubai was founded in 1951 when the late Haji Ajmal Ali first harvested oud oil from agarwood trees in Assam, Northern India. The brand adopts a farm-to-fragrance ethos and is grower, manufacturer and retailer of its collections.

Ajmal Dubai is particularly recognised for its expertise in oud perfumery while continuing to evolve its offering with lighter fragrance compositions designed to appeal to a new generation of global consumers.

The brand has since evolved into a global fragrance house with more than 400 retail touchpoints worldwide and distribution across over 70 countries.

Ajmal Group CEO Abdulla Ajmal commented, “Airports today have become far more than transit spaces – they are global discovery platforms where consumers are actively looking for experiences that feel distinctive and memorable.

“Fragrance, especially, has the ability to create an immediate emotional connection with travellers from different parts of the world. For us, this partnership with Avolta at Birmingham and Cairo International airports is not just about retail presence, but about placing Ajmal Dubai within a truly international cultural crossroads where diverse scent preferences and curiosity come together.”

Ajmal brings Oud expertise to TFWA Asia Pacific show

Ajmal Dubai has built its reputation on its vertically integrated approach to oud perfumery, overseeing every stage of the fragrance journey from cultivation and distillation to formulation and retail

At the recent TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference (11-14 May) in Singapore, Ajmal Dubai highlighted its growing regional footprint and expanding portfolio of travel retail-exclusive (TREX) creations.

Ajmal Dubai presented six key collections reflecting the brand’s balance between traditional Middle Eastern perfumery and modern scent trends.

These included the Boudoir collection, the oud-led Signature Series, the Untold Stories range, Aurum Summer, Evoke Red for Her and Him, and the Music of Oud collection, featuring Strings of Oud, Rhythm of Oud and Song of Oud.

Ajmal Dubai said the Music of Oud range was inspired by the enduring legacy of oud and its cultural resonance across generations.
